The Defense Fund ensures that financial ruin doesn’t prevent a good clinician from getting the strategic advocacy and document preparation they need for a legal case.

How Retaliation Works

Step 1 — Identify the Threat: Clinician raises patient safety concern or files a complaint.

Step 2 — Launch the PIP: Hospital initiates a Performance Improvement Plan targeting the clinician.

Step 3 — Terminate & Report: Employment ends. A report is filed with the medical board to escalate pressure.

Step 4 — Financial Starvation: No income. No legal budget. No ability to fight back.

Step 5 — Silence: Without resources, the clinician cannot mount a defense.

The Defense Fund interrupts this cycle at Step 4.

Tier 1 — Sponsor a Strategy Session

Covers the cost of a “Code Blue” intake and timeline-building session for an exhausted healthcare worker.

Tier 2 — The Documentation Shield

Funds the legal resource mining and case preparation for a clinician facing a medical board dispute.

Tier 3 — Mutual Aid / Survival

Direct financial relief for a clinician whose contract or visa was abruptly terminated in retaliation.
