It starts with family. I remember being in middle school when my grandmother, Helyn, suffered her first heart attack. She was a healthcare worker for decades. She was someone who would stay long after meal times just to ensure that residents who moved a little slower, perhaps due to a stroke or dementia, had company and a full meal. She taught me that medicine is as much about patience and kindness as it is about science

Being different has always been my strength. It has forced me to think outside the box and allowed me to become a published scientist, a teacher, and an advocate for the underdog. I know what it’s like to be attacked for who you are, and I know what it’s like to march forward anyway.

I founded LBJD MED PRO because I am passionate about helping those who are left vulnerable by the systems they serve. I am a problem-solver and a nurturer, and I am here to ensure that clinicians have the resourceful advocacy and “Clinical Fluency” they need to protect their careers and their well-being.
